Weather report 1 November 2012

The jet stream is running down the west and across the southern part of the UK.  This will bring some rain to those area but leave our region in an area of cool but relatively moderate weather.

The low pressure system created by the jet stream will bring some spells of cloud but the radar images are also currently showing some clear spells too.  We can, therefore, expect to see some odd bright spells and the occasional light shower.  The radar images are still showing rain clouds passing through our area this morning and later this afternoon.  The chance of more rain today is around 70%.

Temperatures will be low today.  Our top temperature will reach around 7c whilst overnight the low will fall to around 2c.

The wind will be blowing from the SW and will have an average speed of around 8mph during the day.  Gusts will be around twice the average speed.

Summary

Some bright spells but cloud and rain possible too.
