New hazard on way back to work. Weather report 29 December 2010.

A misty day in Hammerwich 29 December 2010

Observations made : 07:38 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1017.9mb (rising)

Temperature : 3.4c

Wind : Still (SE)

Relative humidity : 100%

Forecast : Many of us are back to work today and we will be faced with a general blanket of mist or fog.  This presents a new hazard to all travelling around and the mist or fog will linger throughout the day.

With a covering of heavy cloud temperatures will also remain positive and during the morning we can expect a high of 4c and this will rise to around 6c by mid afternoon. Temperatures will remain positive throughout the night.

With the mist and fog we can also expect a general drizzle which may, at times, increase to light rain. This, along with the elevated temperatures, should help remove the last remaining areas of snow.

Looking forward at the charts shows that high pressure will remain with us for the remainder of the week.  This could mean that at the weekend we could see overnight temperatures fall below zero after a day of clear skies.  This, position could, however, change.

If the position changes today I will post an update via twitter.
