WS7 weather report 18 January 2011.

Observations made 06:25 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1025mb

Temperature : 3.9c

Wind : 1mph (NW)

Relative humidity : 91%

Rain since 00:01 hours : 0mm

Rain this month : 30.2mm

Forecast : We are now entering a new phase, weather wise, as a ridge of high pressure is entering over our region.  (See pressure chart).  This change will bring us a brighter sky but cooler temperatures.

During today we can, therefore, expect to see less dense cloud than of recent as the higher pressure moves in.  As the cloud cover reduces temperatures will fall below the double figures we have enjoyed recently to a more seasonal 6c during the day.  Overnight the temperature will fall to around 2c.

There are, currently, no significant rain clouds in our area showing on the radar image and, therefore, we can expect a predominantly dry day.

The interesting time will be low pressure re-enters the system as this could re-introduce some snow, however, the pressure charts show that high pressure is with us for at least the remainder of the week. I will monitor the changes and report when any significant change is imminent.

We can, therefore, look forward to some bright and cooler days with frosty nights ahead.

Summary.  Mostly dry, brighter than of late but a little cooler.
