Forecast for today.

If you are planning a trip for this weekend then today will be the better of the two days to make it.  At the moment the jet stream is lying over the more norther parts of the UK and this is allowing slightly cooler air into our area.

As the weekend passes the warm jet stream moves south and when this meets the cooler air we will have some rain.

The good news is that, at the moment, all of this will take place during late evening and into the early hours of tomorrow.

This means that it will remain dry, if at times cloudy, during the daylight hours and we will have a top temperature of around 17-18c.  The overnight low, because of the heavier clouds moving into the area, will be around 8c.  (Last night the low was 6c).

The wind will remain from the SSW and at times will be brisk.  We can expect an average wind speed of around 8mph with gusts around double that speed.

Summary.

Dry and at times cloudy but still with some bright spells. Rain in the late hours.
