Forecast for today.
The jet stream is now moving to the upper reaches of the UK and this is allowing the southerly breeze and warmer temperatures to reach us.
This morning, however, there will still be a threat of the odd isolated shower. As the morning passes the cloud cover will thin and, in parts, fragment to allow some glimpses of the sun. We will see the majority of the brighter weather during the afternoon / early evening.
Another feature of the day will be the breeze. This will not be strong but will have a steady average of 8mph with gusts twice this speed. The top temperature today will be around 17-18c and we will have an overnight low of around 8c.
We are now heading into a period of dry weather for a day or two with rain returning to us towards the later part of the week and weekend. This weather system can easily change and I will keep you informed on the situation.
Summary
Cloudy start then some brighter spells.
