Forecast for today.
The last day of the month today and another month with very little rain. Statistically our rainfall this month is similar to that we had in July 1975 (35.4mm). The difference being that we were then blessed with a long period of hot weather. The next few days do not suggest a repeat but we can always hope!
Back to the present and we can expect some good bright spells and temperatures up to about 22-23c. Overnight the low will fall to around 15c.
Cloud will increase as the day passes but this will not bring any rain to us today and so it is another great day for enjoying the great outdoors.
Our current spell of good weather is due to the jet stream sitting above the UK and allowing us to enjoy some southerly climate. The wind will be blowing from a SW for the majority of the day.
Looking ahead at the pressure charts we can see a low pressure system developing in the west and this could bring us some change in the next few days. The mixture of cold and warm front (known as an occluded front) generally brings cloud and precipitation. I will monitor this situation and report the outcome over the next few days.
Summary
Dry and bright with some cloud too.
