WS7 weather report for Hammerwich, Lichfield, Burntwood, Brownhills, Bloxwich and surrounding areas (3 August 2011).

Observations made 06:26 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1013mb

Temperature : 14.9c

Wind : calm

Relative humidity : 85%

Rain this month : 0mm

Forecast for today.

A brighter start to the day today but the more dense cloud will return from time to time to bring a similar pattern to the day as yesterday.

Our top temperature today will be around 25c and our low will fall to around 15c.  It will be another very humid day particularly when the cloud cover increases.

last night I reported, via twitter (@WS7weather), the late night activity of the Hammerwich farmers as they gathered in the first big harvest of the year.  Well, there is no better indicator that the weather is going to change than when the local farming community work around the clock to ensure the crop is in top condition.

Looking ahead they are right to have made that decision because a change in the jet stream position today will allow cooler air from the north to move down into the country and the subsequent clash with the warm SW air will create some rainfall either very late tonight or during tomorrow.

Radar imagery is currently only showing forecast models and so I will report later this evening on times and density for the likely rainfall in our area via twitter.

Summary

Warm and humid.
