Forecast for today.

A mild if cloudy start to the day today.  Temperatures overnight were a degree above what I thought yesterday at 13c.

Today we will see plenty of cloud but this will not prevent the odd glimpse of the sun.  The day will not, however, be as bright a day as yesterday turned out to be.  Our top temperature will be around 19-20c and the overnight low will fall to around 14c.

The jet stream is running straight across the UK (SW to NE) and those regular readers of this blog will probably recognise that this generally indicates rain either late in the afternoon or early evening.  Today will be no exception.

The forecast radar images show two bands of rain cloud working across the country and these will reach us early evening and then towards late evening.  At the moment  I do not know the exact positioning or density of the rainfall but I will report during the day as the radar images become more precise.  (I will report via WS7weather on twitter).

Winds will remain light throughout the day and from a generally SW direction.  My advice is to get out and about this morning and plan to be back by mid afternoon if you want to avoid the risk of getting caught in the rain.

Summary.

Mostly cloudy, rain likely during the evening.
