WS7 weather report for Hammerwich, Lichfield, Burntwood, Brownhills, Bloxwich and surrounding areas (18 October 2011)

Observations made 06:33 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire

Air pressure : 1005mb

temperature : 4.8c

Wind : 4mph WSW -SW

Relative humidity : 84%

Rain last 24 hours : 3.4mm

Forecast for today.

There is plenty of rain to the north and west of us but we will not see that much fall.  Instead we will see some bright spells with the occasional risk of rain.  This will be more likely during the afternoon and evening.

The clouds will break to allow some bright spells but this will not help lift the top temperature much above 10c.  We may not even reach double figures.

Like yesterday there will be a steady breeze blowing and this will gust, at times, to around 25mph.  The average speed will be around 8-10mph with the wind coming from a general W direction.

Overnight temperatures will again fall to around 5c and as the week passes this will be nearer 3c.  If you haven’t protected your tender plants yet now is the time to do it.

Summary.

Windy with some bright spells and the odd shower particularly later in the day.
