Forecast for today.
The last day of 2011 will be generally cloudy and dull. A representation of the year perhaps?
Our top temperature will be very mild at around 11c (this time last year our top temperature was 5c) with an overnight low of around 8c.
The jet stream is currently forming a position cutting across this UK and this will bring more showery weather over the next few days. Today will be no exception.
During the day we will see a few showers and incur light winds from the SW. The wind speed will maintain a steady “blow” of around 6mph with gusts around 18mph.
Looking to the week ahead we will see plenty of cloud, showers and a return of the strong breeze as the week passes.
Tomorrow I will give all walkers, cyclists etc a tip on how to create your own 3-4 hour weather forecast so have a look out for my article – Be Your Own Weather Forecaster. It will be online around mid afternoon. My normal bulletin will still take place during the morning.
Finally, whatever you are doing tonight can I wish you a great a safe and happy New Year.
Summary
Mostly cloudy with occasional showers.
