Forecast for today
In complete contrast to the recent pattern we are now returning to a cloudy, occasionally wet and windy period of weather.
This morning we have a high relative humidity and a dew point of 7.3c which is very near the actual temperature. These conditions mean that the air will feel damp (even though it may not be raining) and in some sheltered places mist could form.
We will see plenty of cloud today and this will bring occasional showers during the day but particularly after dark. The radar images show a large band or rain cloud moving across the UK from 18:00 hours although it could be later in the day before it reaches our area depending on the wind speed.
The wind will be blustery this morning but will settle down as the day passes. The wind will be coming from a warmer southerly direction (SW). This morning the wind speed will be around 12-15mph but by evening it will die down to around 5-8mph.
Temperatures will be much higher than of late and our high today will be around 11c with the low around 5c. (Our low overnight was 3.2c at 00:01 hours).
Summary
Increasing cloud and warmer. Windy and rain likely too.
