Temperature : -o.5c

Forecast for today.

The threat and much talked about risk of heavy snow over the last 24 hours is now past us and we got away relatively unscathed.  It goes to show how quickly risk can change but, in this case, we were protected by the high pressure remaining in place and this prevented the cold and warm air from mixing.

Today will start off cold and there could be some ice patches around.  We also have very high relative humidity which will lead to some mist and drizzle in the air.

Temperatures will remain low throughout the day and our top temperature will be around 1c.  This will feel more like -1c in the E – ESE breeze.  As the night passes the cloud will break and this will give the astronomers a chance to see the stars for the first time for a few nights.  The lack of cloud, however, will allow the overnight temperature to fall down to -4c.

The outlook until Tuesday remains pretty much a continuation of the cold weather and then we will see some brighter spells reaching our region.

Summary.

Mostly cloudy and remaining cold.  Some mist and possibly drizzle early on.
