Forecast for today.

A cold and frosty start to the day but, so long as you can wrap up warm, a great day for getting out and about.

Our top temperature today will be around 1c but there will be very little breeze about to add any discomfort through the wind chill.  The cloud cover will also be very thin and at times non-existent.  This means we will also see plenty of bright spells.  A great day for photography.

Our astronomer friends would be best searching the sky early evening tonight as the cloud base will thicken a little after dark.  This cloud will help keep the overnight temperature higher than last night (low -5.8c)  at around -2c.

There is now a change beginning  to develop with the weather with the jet stream working much closer to the UK from around 36-48 hours time.  Initially the jet stream will be still looping across the UK via Greenland but eventually it will come much closer and eventually bring milder conditions.  I expect this change to be noticeable from Monday lunch onwards.

Summary

Dry and occasionally bright although still cold.
