Forecast for today.

After the cold snap over the weekend the weather is heading towards a mild period.

The jet stream will, over the next few, days begin to move further northwards and this will allow the southern milder climate to dominate.

Today, will be typical of what is in store for the week.  We will see plenty of cloud cover with only the occasional break for some sun.  Temperatures will increase as the day passes and our overnight low will be similar to our daytime high of around 7c.  As the week passes the temperatures will increase steadily.

With all of the cloud about there is always a risk of some drizzle or light rain and (as usual with this pattern) the risk is greatest around mid to late afternoon.  The majority of us, however, will see a dry day.  The further north you travel the greater the risk of persistent rain.

The wind will be blowing from the SW at an average speed of around 8mph.  Gusts will be around 20mph.

Looking ahead a little the temperature will keep increasing and by Thursday / Friday we could be seeing a high of around 13-14c.

Summary.

Generally cloudy with little temperature change after midday.
