Forecast for today.
Following the clear skies and warm day we enjoyed yesterday today could seem as a bit of a disappointment. However, when taken into the context of the time of year it is going to be a mild and pleasant day.
The jet stream is still sitting above the UK and we continue to be protected by a “bubble” of high pressure. This is allowing the milder southern climate to dominate.
The light wind (average speed around 3-4mph), however, is travelling from west to east which will bring us more cloud than yesterday. Throughout the day we can expect varying levels of cover and, at times (like early this morning) the sky will be 100% cloud covered.
Despite the cloud I do not expect to see any real rain although there is alway the danger of some isolated drizzle. This, however, is unlikely for the majority.
As we get around lunchtime there will be some fragmentation of the cloud and this will allow for some brighter spells. The top temperature will rise to around 11c and overnight the temperature will fall to around 6c.
Summary
Cloudier than yesterday but remaining mild.
