Forecast for today.

Today heralds the Spring equinox in the Northern hemisphere and the weather in our area will be typically seasonal.

We are currently being protected by a ridge of high pressure that is moving northwards across our area.  This band of pressure will, as the day passes, force away the other tight bands of pressure that are creating the WSW breeze.  During the day we will have a breeze of around 6mph and gusts of around 15mph but these will  reduce to a “whisper” by the time evening arrives.

Throughout the day there will be some cloud about but not enough to stop some bright spells of weather.  These brighter spells will help lift our top temperature up to a maximum of 13-14c.  Overnight, with the thin cloud, the temperature will fall to a low of around 3c.  Despite the occasional cloud cover we should see no rain at any time during the day.

Summary

A dry and generally bright day.
