Forecast for today.

After a cold night when the temperature fell to 1.3c at 05:58 hours this morning we are in for a much more pleasant day.

During the morning we will see plenty of bright spells and these will lead to a top temperature of around 9c.  This will be tempered slightly by the steady Northerly breeze that will be blowing at an average speed of around 5mph.  The breeze will add some wind chill to the top temperature.

During the afternoon we will see some cloud gather but we will be unfortunate if any of this cloud brings us some rain.  I believe that it will remain dry all day in our area.

Overnight the temperature will once again fall to around 1c and we can expect some ground frost in the morning.

The jet stream is now beginning to become a little “flatter” (see image) and looping less from the far northern regions.  This means that as the week passes we will see some milder weather but with it will come some more cloud and rain.

Summary.

A dry day with some bright spells and cool northerly breeze.
