Forecast for today.

The low pressure system that we spoke about yesterday is now centred across the UK and, in particular, our area.  This will bring some more wet and breezy weather to our area today.

The GFS radar images show that the rain that is falling at the time of writing this blog will abate and by the end of drive time we will see the odd dry spell, however, the whole day will be interspersed with showers, some of which could be heavy.  It is not a day to leave out your washing!

With the cloud cover temperatures will struggle to reach 8c but overnight, with the cloud remaining, the low will only fall to around 5c.

Winds will be blowing from the E or ENE today.  The average speed will be around 6mph but gusts will be up to 20mph.  The wind will have a wind chill factor and this will make the air temperature feel a degree or so cooler than the thermometer is telling us.

Summary

A showery, mostly cloudy day with only the odd brighter spell.
