Forecast for today.

Today will be another day under the influence of a low pressure system.  The system is centred just to the east of us and this system will bring us more unsettled weather today.

The radar images are currently showing a lot of patchy rain clouds across our region and so, this morning, I expect some localised rain showers for us all.

As we reach the afternoon period the likelihood of more general rain is with us and we should all see some sustained periods of rain. The risk of the heaviest rain will be from around 12:00 to 19:00 hours.  It will, however, not be raining for that entire period.

Temperature will reach a high of around 9-10c.  This will again be tempered with a cooling NW breeze.  The average wind speed today will be around 8mph.  Overnight the temperature will fall to around 4-5c.

Looking back in my log shows that this time in 2010 we were in the middle of the problems with the Icelandic ash cloud.  The cloud was slow moving due to high pressure and no rain. How times change!

Cloudy with some rain showers and with a chill NW breeze.
