Forecast for today.
The rain that I forecast yesterday, for today, has arrived and will remain with us, off and on, for much of the day.
We can expect heavy rainfall for the majority of the day with the heaviest fall being during the late morning / lunchtime. We can expect a rainfall rate of around 10mm/hour during this period.
You will notice that the wind is a little stronger today and the direction has moved from the NNW we observed yesterday to one from The ENE. This direction will move a little further still with the wind eventually blowing from the E as the day passes. The wind, at times, will be quite gusty. The average speed being around 8-10mph and the gust speed around 30-35mph.
After last night’s downpour you may find some standing water on some roads and coupled with the spray travelling conditions will be poor.
Our top temperature today will be around 9c and the low overnight will be 6c.
Summary
A wet, dull and breezy day with few brighter spells.
