Forecast for today.

We are at the very start of a subtle change to the weather when for  short period, in about 24 hours time, the jet stream will no longer loop below the country but will run across it.  This should bring less showers on Saturday.

Today, however, is back to our now familiar pattern of cloud and some rain showers.  it will also be a little cooler today than of late.  Our top temperature only rising the around 8c.  This temperature drop is caused by a slight change of wind direction.  Today the wind will be blowing from the NW eventually moving more to the N.  The average wind speed will be around 6mph.

Overnight the temperature will fall to around 4c.  This will necessitate some protection for the young and tender and plants.  It has been some time since I have been able to advise of a good viewing night for our astronomers and the next few nights will also be disappointing.

Summary

Another day of cloud and showers.  Cooler than of late.
