WS7 weather report for Hammerwich, Lichfield, Burntwood, Brownhills, Bloxwich and Pelsall areas (2 May 2012)

Observations made 06:29 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1022.6mb

Temperature : 8.1c

Wind : 4mph ENE

Relative humidity : 96%

Rain last 24 hours : 7mm

Sunrise / sunset : 05:18/ 20:22 hours

Forecast for today.

A system of high pressure is now over our area and this will bring with it some milder temperatures.

Today our top temperature will be around 13c and overnight the low will fall to around 6c.  We will, however, not be seeing much blue sky.  In fact, it will be a mostly cloudy and dull day.  With the cloud, especially early and late on, you may come across the odd patch of isolated light rain, but on the whole we should remain mostly dry.

The wind will remain light and predominantly from the ENE although because of how the jet stream is swirling around at the moment the wind direction may vary from time to time.  The average wind speed will be 5-6mph.

There is a low pressure system building up to the south of the UK and this will bring heavy rain the south coast overnight.  We may just catch the fringes of this system, however, the current radar forecast would suggest that this is unlikely.

Summary

Dull but a warmer and mostly dry day.
