Forecast for today.

Yesterday I described the position of the jet stream and how the “loop” was creating a low pressure system.  Well today we will be in the middle of that system.

This means, weather wise, that we once again going to see some hazy sunshine through plenty of cloud cover eventually bringing the occasional shower.  The showers are most likely to arrive from late morning, during the afternoon and even into the early evening.  (The rain being caused by the higher temperatures evaporating some of the moisture on the ground and then thickening the already present clouds).

The wind will today blow from the NE and this will bring a chill to the air.  Our top temperature will be around 11c.  Overnight the clouds will help maintain the temperature to around 6-7c.  The cloud cover means better news for the gardeners but bad news for the astronomers.

As the day passes you will see an increase in the wind speed and by the afternoon we will see average speeds of around 8mph with gusts of around 20mph.

Summary

A cloudy day with occasional showers.
