Forecast for today

After yesterday’s dark and occasionally drizzly day today will be a slightly better affair.

The jet stream is still running slightly below the UK and this is bringing rain, once again, to the southern parts of the UK and France.  A low pressure system is also being created by a “loop” in the jet stream out to the SW of the UK at the moment and this will bring some more cloud and rain as the week passes.

Today will remain cloudy for the majority of the day, however, we will, on the whole, remain dry.  There is the possibility of some light rain / drizzle during the day (particularly late afternoon and into the evening), however, on the whole it will be a much better day.

Temperatures will peak today at around 14-15c and overnight they will fall to around 9c.

The wind will be light (average speed around 6mph) and from a generally NW to NE direction.  This wind direction will bring a chill to the air.

Summary.

Cloudy but with less rain than recent days.
