Forecast for today

The day starts off with the welcome sight of some sunshine.  The good news is that the cloud will be thin or fragmented enough for the brighter spells to remain for the majority of the day.

Temperatures will rise to around 18c and even overnight they will only fall to around 12c – a much more pleasant day than of late.

The wind will be blowing from the W or NW and the average speed will be around 5mph.  This wind speed is a lot lighter than recent days and will add to the feeling of improved weather.

The cloud cover will increase from time to time and this brings the very outside chance of the odd localised shower.  The chances of this happening, however, are only around 10%.

It is amazing the report dry weather when the Wimbledon tennis championships are about to start.  Sadly, however, I can see some disruption to play later in the week when rain returns to the UK.

Summary

Dry and bright spells.
