Weather forecast 21 July 2012.
I am pleased to report that our area is at the centre of a system of high pressure. This system is currently keeping away a low pressure system that is containing some very heavy rain to the northern parts of Scotland.
We will see some sunshine during the day through mainly thin or fragmented cloud. The cloud will reform again after dark thus preventing any clear view of the sky for our astronomers.
Our top temperature will reach around 20c and overnight with the extra cloud only fall to a low of 11c. The “feel good” factor of the sun will be helped by the fact that only the slightest of breezes will be blowing today. The wind will be from the WSW and the average wind speed will be around 2mph.
The high pressure system will remain with us for the majority of the week, however, a system of low pressure will move back into our area by the weekend.
As a matter of interest my records show that we have received 95mm of rainfall in Hammerwich during July 2012 so far. The long term average for the month is 46mm.
Brighter and warmer than of late and remaining dry!
