Weather forecast 27 July 2012.
As you step outside today there is much more of a fresh feel about the weather. This is due to the jet stream (see image below) now sitting across the central part of the UK. This is more of a normal weather pattern for the UK than we have been experiencing recently. You will also notice the “loops” in the jet stream to the west of the UK which will bring lower pressure to our area over the next few days.
For today it will be much cooler. This will be helped by a steady NW breeze which will pick up a little speed as the day passes. The average speed will, however, only be around 7mph (gusts 15mph).
We will see some fragmentation in the medium level cloud and this will bring us some bright spells during the day. Despite the increased amount of cloud I do not expect any rain in our area today.
Our top temperature will reach around 21c and overnight the low will fall to around 11-12c.
A much better day for those of us in office buildings and factories but not so great if you want to sit out in the sun.
