Weather forecast 29 July 2012.
A very bright and pleasant start to the day, however, looking at the jet stream imagery (below), you will see that the UK is sitting in the centre of a “loop” formed by the jet stream’s path. This “loop”, as it moves east, will bring us some changes to the weather today.
As the morning passes we will see some increases in the cloud levels and from about lunchtime to early evening we are likely to see some rain. (These will also be the conditions in the Olympic park). At times some of the rain could be heavy. The rain will not be falling throughout the period and, in fact, we may still see some bright spells as the cloud fragments.
Our top temperature today will be around 17c and our low overnight will be around 9-10c.
The wind will be blowing from the WSW-W at an average speed of around 8-9mph. Gusts will reach around 24mph.
Reverting again to the jet stream imagery you will see that that path the “stream” is currently taking is very modulating and is creating low pressure “loops” as it goes north and then south. These low pressure “loops” mean that we will see changeable weather for the majority of next week.
