After a very humid and warm start to the day the weather is about to make a change. This change is not necessarily for the better.
A band of rain will be moving up the country from the SW and will, in some areas, bring some heavy downpours. The current imagery suggests that the rain carrying cloud will reach our area by late morning / early afternoon. The risk of rain, some of which could be heavy, will then remain with us until late afternoon. During the early part of the afternoon, when the front first reaches us, there is also the risk of some thunder.
Once the rain is cleared we will be left with some clear sky and bright sunshine. It will also be a very good night for our astronomy friends to make some observations as the night sky will remain clear.
Our top temperature today will be around 20-21c and overnight the low will reach 13c.
The wind will be blowing from a generally easterly direction today and, at times, the wind will be brisk. Our average wind speed will be around 10mph but gusts could reach around 25mph.
Bright and warm at times but rain during the afternoon.
