Local weather report for the 16 August 2012 plus V festival update.

Forecast

After yesterday’s heavy rainfall today will be a much calmer and more pleasant day to get out and about.  Yesterday we recorded 14mm of rainfall in Hammerwich although parts of Scotland received twice that amount.

There will be some cloud cover during the day but this will fragment sufficiently at times to allow us to see some bright spells. This will also help lift our top temperature up to around 21c. During the evening the cloud will thicken and this will help keep the overnight temperature relatively high at around 15-16c.

Winds will be blowing from the warm south (SSE) and although the breeze may be around 10mph at times it will not feel unpleasant.

There is a slight chance of some isolated showers during the day (around 30%) but, for the majority, it will be a generally dry and pleasant day.  The only detracting weather feature of the day is that, at times, it will feel very humid.

For those travelling to the V festival at Weston Park tomorrow the latest weather information is:-

  • Friday – Some rain particularly during the afternoon and early evening.
  • Saturday – Some showers during the afternoon/ early evening but mostly dry.
  • Sunday – Some showers but mostly dry.

Today’s Summary.

Cloudy but with some brighter spells.

Observations made at 06:26 hours in  Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1008.7mb; Temperature : 14.4c; Wind : 3mph SSE; Relative humidity : 94%; Rain last 24 hours : 14mm.
