Will It Rain On Bank Holiday Monday?

Having just viewed the latest rain radar images I unable to bring good weather news for this Bank Holiday Monday.

A band of rain cloud is currently moving across the UK from the SW-W and will reach our area by around 10:30-11:00.  We can expect showers from any time thereon although, during the afternoon, the radar images suggest some of the precipitation could be more persistent and heavier.

Our top temperature today will be around 17c and overnight the minimum will be around 13c.

When the rain arrives the wind speed will also increase a little and we see average speeds of around 12mph and gusts of around 25mph.  The wind will be blowing from a generally S direction (SE-SW).

Throughout the day and night  we will maintain a cloud cover and this will prevent any astronomical observations.

Today’s Summary.

Cloudy with widespread  rain moving in during the day.

Observations made at 08:56  hours in  Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1012.6mb; Temperature : 15.4c; Wind : 3 SSE; Relative humidity : 87%; Rain last 24 hours : 0mm.
