Overnight the minimum temperature was just 7.9c and stepping out first thing this morning you will feel a bit of a chill in the air.
On the positive side the morning will be generally bright and this will help lift the maximum daytime temperature up to around 16c. Overnight the minimum temperature will again be in single figures at around 7c.
The Jet Stream, however, is running West to East across the body of the UK and this means that we will see increasing levels of cloud cover as the day passes. This increased level of cloud may lead also to the odd localised shower later in the day but the majority of us should remain dry.
The wind will increase in speed as the day passes and by lunchtime the average wind speed will be around 8mph with gusts of around 20mph. The wind direction will be SW to WSW.
Bright but cool start; cloud increasing as the day passes.
