Signs of high air pressure moving towards us.

I have some better news to bring today!  Whilst the low pressure system that has been creating so much havoc across the UK is still with us it is moving away and a high pressure system is beginning to move towards us.

Today will start off with a few bright spells through thin or fragmented cloud.  As the day passes through lunchtime the cloud cover will thicken and we could see the odd shower of rain during mid to late afternoon.

The cloud will remain with us during the night and this will help maintain temperatures to around 9c.  During the day the top temperature will be about 13c.

The wind will be blowing from the W to NW and, at times, it could be a little breezy.  The average wind speed will be around 8mph.

Today’s summary.

Some brighter spells but also cloudy with the risk of a rain shower during the afternoon.

Observations made 06:29 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1004.1mb; Temperature : 8.5c; Wind : 2mph W; Relative humidity : 91%; Rain last 24 hours : 6mm.
