During the early hours of this morning our local temperature reached a low of 2.6c. As you step out first thing this morning do not be fooled by the bright sunshine because there is a still a chill in the air.
Overall, however, today will be a bright day with plenty of sunshine. We are also in the middle of a low pressure system that is keeping the winds light. It will be a pleasant day for a trip out.
There is about a 15% chance of some isolated showers (as we would expect with a low pressure system) but the majority of us will remain dry throughout the day.
Our top temperature today will be around 10c and overnight temperatures will reduce to around 3c. Gardeners will again need to protect their young and tender plants.
Winds speeds will average around 3mph and will be blowing from the W to WNW.
The jet stream is creating a large low pressure system out to the west of us at the moment and this will bring some generalised rain to the UK in the next 48 hours. Some of the rain could be heavy. Average temperatures will rise a little next week but this will due to a function of the cloud and rain.
A bright day but remaining cool especially overnight.
