Mizzle today?

Another damp and misty morning greets us today.  This will be the picture for much of the day, however, as I said yesterday make the most of today’s mild weather because tomorrow will see the start of some cold weather heading our way.

Back to today’s weather.  There will be a reasonable amount of cloud cover about and this will bring, like yesterday, some mist and drizzle.  I note that some observer are now calling this combination “mizzle”.  The current dew point is 11.5c which is within 0.5c of the actual temperature.  With a low wind and high relative humidity “mizzle” is an inevitable consequence.

Temperatures will  be mild with a maximum of around 13c and a low overnight of around 10c.  (Over the weekend we will see “lows” near to or below zero).

The wind will be from a ENE-NE direction and as the day passes the wind speed should increase a little. The average wind speed will be around 7mph with gusts up to 15mph.

We will not see any heavy or sustained rain today just odd periods of drizzle or light rain.

Summary.

Cloudy with some periods of mist and drizzle.

Observations made at 06:33 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1022mb, Temperature : 12c, Wind : 3mph NE, Relative humidity: 97%, Rain last 24 hours : 0.2mm.
