Feeling cold.

Today sees a respite from the rain and, at times, we will even see the odd bright spell.  Overnight the clouds will allow a clear view of the night’s sky which should be good news for our local astronomers.

What isn’t such good news, however, is that the wind will continue to bring a breeze from the NNW which have a both cooling and wind chill effects.  Our top temperature today will only be around 5c, however with the wind chill, this will feel more like 2.5-3c.  Overnight the temperature will drop to around zero.  This will present different driving hazards tomorrow morning.

The wind will be blowing at around 6mph with gusts of around 20mph.  The wind direction will remain from the NNW-NW throughout the day.

Once again some of the more sensationalist daily papers are talking about temperatures down to -15c in the next few days.  This is not going to happen in our area.  Temperatures around -2c are likely overnight on some days but that will be worst we will see through today, tomorrow and the weekend.
