At 05:23 hours this morning the outside temperature reached the low of -2.5c. When you step out this morning it will feel a little colder even than that due to the wind chill effect. At the current thermometer temperature of -2.2c the wind chill makes the air feel around -3.9c.
We will see more cloud than yesterday and, as the day passes, this will firstly bring the odd localised shower with light rain and possibly sleet. During the late afternoon and into the evening the risk of rain becomes more widespread and all parts of our region will see some rain today.
The extra cloud cover will help lift the daytime temperature up to around 3c and overnight the low will stay in positive figures at around 1c.
The wind will, at times, become gusty. By mid afternoon the wind will have strengthened to an average speed of around 15mph. Gusts could reach up to 35mph. Initially the wind will be from the SW but, as the day passes, it will blow from a more W-WNW direction.
Cold start with the chance of rain / sleet increasing as the day passes.
