After yesterday’s brighter interlude today will be wet and miserable affair. On the brighter side, with all of the cloud and the breeze eventually coming from the SW, it will be a little warmer than of late.
Rain will be a constant feature today. We may see the rain abate a little late afternoon /early evening but it will return soon after. Some of the rain during the day could be heavy and it is likely that we will see the total rainfall exceeding 20mm.
Our top temperature will be around 11c and overnight the low will only be around 9c. This is very mild for this time of year. Going back to 2010 we were seeing snow and temperatures of around -2c.
A feature of the day will be a strong breeze. The breeze will start off from the ESE and will move clockwise towards the SW. As I previously indicated it is this wind direction that is bringing the milder air temperatures. the average wind speed will be around 8mph with gusts around 25mph.
Not a great day for last-minute Christmas shopping or generally getting out and about.
A wet and breezy day.
