Hold on to your hat!

A much brighter day greets us today after yesterday’s rainfall of around 21mm.

We will have a steady SW breeze bringing warm air into the area but it will be gusty at times.  The average wind speed at the time of writing (09:00 hours) is 9.8mph we are seeing gusts speeds of around 20mph.  This breezy weather will continue until twilight.

The good news is that it will be a generally dry and occasionally bright day. Our top temperature will be around 9c and overnight the low will fall to around 5c.

There is only a 10% chance of rain falling in our area which is good news for the sodden fields.  Today, therefore, is a good day for getting out and about.  You will need to hold ont your hat but it will be good to be outside and dry.

Looking ahead the jet stream will continue on a W-E path which means we will have mild but occasionally wet weather for the next few days.
