A bright start greets us this morning. It a pleasant sight to see the sun after days of grey skies and plenty of rain. Yesterday another 10.4mm of rain fell on our area bringing the month total to 131.8mm (nearly 5.25 inches).
The cloud cover will increase as the day passes and the current radar images are showing some light rain clouds reaching our area just after 10:00 hours. Hopefully these rain clouds will simply blow by without troubling us. There is, however, a 60% chance that some of our area will see some drizzle / light rain around this period.
This afternoon the cloud will thicken and, once again, the risk of rain showers again increases. The real risk of further heavy rain is overnight when the radar images are currently showing more widespread rain in our area.
Today will remain breezy with the SW wind averaging around 12mph but gusts could reach 36mph. The breeze will be with us for most of the day due to the low pressure system working across the UK.
Our top daytime temperature will be around 8c and will only see a degree of so difference overnight when the cloud and rain moves in.
Summary
Breezy with some brighter spells in the early morning. Cloud and showers later.
