We will all wake to a light covering of snow on the pavements, cars and grassed areas this morning. Temperatures were around 0c overnight which will leave some untreated roads icy in patches. Care should be taken this morning. Brownhills Bob reported last night that Meerash Lane in Hammerwich was very icy near the old farm house.
More light snow will fall today. The first period will be around 08:30 hours this morning. I do not expect any great accumulations of snow and the roads should remain unaffected. The further W or E you travel the more likely you are to meet heavier snow falls.
We are also likely to see some rain today and this could turn to ice later in the day. This may affect all routes if they are untreated. Further light snow flurries are also likely during periods of the day.
The daytime temperature will only reach a maximum of around 2-3c and overnight the low will be around -2c.
Any wind will be blowing from the SW initally. This wind direction will move towards the cooler WNW as the day passes. The average wind speed will be around 3mph this morning and around 6mph this afternoon.
