Hold on to your hat.

It will be a very mild day today (temperature wise) and we will reach the dizzy heights of a double digit thermometer readings this afternoon.  Our top temperature today will be around 11c.  Overnight the minimum temperature will still be a very mild 5 to 6c.  Compared to this date last year we were seeing overnight lows of around -2c.

To spoil the mild temperature the wind will be quite breezy today.  During the morning wind speeds will be around 9-10mph.  The wind will be blowing from the SSW.  As the day passes the average speed will increase to around 15-18mph.  This will also bring gusts of around 35mph.  The higher wind speeds will take the “edge” off the top temperature  making it “feel” more like 7c.

A low pressure system is moving across the UK towards the NE and this will bring rain showers to our area from around late morning.  Showers will then fall, off and on, throughout the rest of the day.

A breezy day with some showers too.
