High pressure system continues to dominate.

The high air pressure system that has been with us for a number of days (and is bringing the current cold spell) continues to dominate.  The jet stream continues to ride around the UK leaving us exposes to the cooler northern climate.

Today will be another cold day when our top temperature will only reach around 2-3c.  With the wind chill effect the “feel” will be more like -1c to -2c.  A chilly day for dog walking and generally venturing out.

The radar images are showing a general covering of cloud for the majority of the day and this will squeeze out the odd flurry of light snow from time to time.  This will be a similar situation to what we experienced yesterday.  The snow will not cause any real disruption or accumulation.

The wind this morning is blowing from the NNW, however, I expect a slight movement clockwise as the day passes towards the NE.  The average wind speed will be around 6mph.

As the week passes the temperature will rise and by the 1 March we will see daytime temperatures reaching 7-8c.
