Once again the high pressure system that is dominating across our area is ensuring that the temperature remains lower than we would expect for this time of year. Today our top temperature will only be around 4c. Overnight the temperature will reach a low of around 1c.
As we have seen over the last few days the sky will be generally cloud covered. this will thicken during the afternoon to increase the risk of some drizzle or light rain. The chance of this happening is around 60%.
The wind will continue to bring a cold chill. Currently (at approximately 06:40 hours) the wind is blowing from the N but as the day passes I expect to see this direction move clockwise slowly towards the NE. The average wind speed will be 5mph but will strengthen a little as the day passes.
The GFS ensemble model is still showing a slight temperature rise by the end of the week and then a leveling out of the temperature for the first few days of March. Nothing spectacular but just a few degrees warmer.
Cloudy and cool.
