Daytime temperatures on the rise.

You may recall a week or so back that I detailed that the temperature would, at the end of the month, begin to increase a little.  Well, here we are at the penultimate day in February and finally we are seeing some slight increase in the daytime temperature.  During the corresponding week last year the daytime temperatures reached a high of around 12-14c.  The high today will be nearer 5-6c but with less wind chill than of late it will feel much milder.

As the day passes the cloud will also thin although it may be dense and humid enough to bring a bit of dampness in the air the this morning but, overall, it will be a dry day.

Late this afternoon / early this evening the radar images are showing that the cloud cover will begin to thin and fragment.  This reduction of cloud density will allow temperatures to dip a little overnight to near freezing point.

The wind will maintain a course from the NE today.  The average wind speed will be around 5mph.

Milder than of late.  Remaining generally dry.

Observations made at 06:35 hours Hammerwich, Staffordshire.

Air pressure : 1037mb, Temperature : 2.1c, Wind : 3 mph NE, Relative humidity: 90%, Rain since 00:01 hours : 0mm, Rain this month : 46 mm Rain this year : 78 mm
