A little brighter but any warmer?

Another bright start to the day although this is joined a light sprinkling of snow on the grass and paths.  Care needs to be taken if you are walking out this morning.

The overnight temperature reached a thermometer low of -3.1c at 03:49 hours and it is no warmer three hours later. We will, however, see some increase in the temperature today to a maximum of around 3-4c by mid afternoon.  Once the daylight begins to fade (sunset is around 17:52 hours today) the temperature will again fall and by the early hours we will again see a thermometer reading of around -2c to -3c.

The cloud cover will be variable during the day. This will bring generally brighter spells but we will also have the risk of the odd grains of snow when the cloud thickens.

The wind direction has today moved to be blowing more from the N (general direction NNE to NNW).  The average wind speed will be around 5mph.

SummarySome bright spells but remaining cold particularly overnight.
