After a night when the temperature fell to -3.6c we will step out early this morning to some ground frost. It is, however, a bright start to the day and we can already see the sun shining through thin cloud cover.
The sun will remain with us for much of the morning, however, as the day passes the radar images are showing that the cloud cover thickens as the day passes. This thickening of the cloud could bring us some rain / sleet later today.
The wind is currently very light and I do not expect to see the average wind speed today to be much more than 8mph with gusts of around 15mph. The wind direction this morning will be from the NW but as the day passes we will see the wind direction move anti-clockwise towards the WSW. It is this change in the wind direction that will bring the increase in cloud.
Our top temperature today will be around 4c and overnight the low will reach a minimum of around 0c.
Bright start but cloud later.
