Cloudy and cool – again!

Once again the morning greets us with a very cloudy sky.  Thick clouds are currently over our area bringing the odd spot of localised drizzle.  The remainder of the day will also see plenty of further cloud cover and only the occasional brighter spell.

The cloud cover and a chill NE-ENE wind will also prevent our temperatures rising too far today.  The top thermometer reading will only be around 4c.  Overnight we will see the thermometer read below freezing point at around -1c to -2c.  If we contrast this to last year our daytime temperature was around 13-14c.

As stated previously the wind will be from the NE-ENE for the majority of the day.  The average wind speed during daylight hours will be around 4-5mph.  This wind speed and direction will add some wind chill effect to the feel of the already low top temperature.

The ensemble model is currently showing (follow the trend of the thick red line) a dip in temperatures over the weekend. We do, however, see a slight increase at the beginning of the next month.
