As we get ready for work this morning the sky is a lot brighter than of late. Outside looks warm and inviting but the fact is that the temperature outside is as low as we have seen all week. At the time of observation (06:33 hours) the air temperature is -2.7c.
This means that, once again, any lying snow or water will be frozen presenting a hazard of black ice. In Hall lane, Hammerwich we are still restricted to single lane traffic caused by the snow drifts and with the current low temperature it will be a few days before this situation improves.
Today will have plenty of bright spells and this will help lift the temperature up to a maximum of around 3c. Overnight, will less cloud to act as our “duvet”, the low will reach around -4c.
The wind will be blowing from a slightly more northerly direction today (NNE to NNW) with an average speed of around 5mph.
There is a chance (around 35%) of a snow flurry this afternoon / early evening but like yesterday it will be more for show than substance.
The low pressure system we spoke about yesterday continues to head our way and will help lift daytime temperatures to around 6-7c during next week.
