A complex low pressure system is now moving across the country from W to E. This is bringing us some bright spells this morning but also gusty winds. The wind speed at the time of writing is around 14 mph and is blowing from the SSW.
The gusty SW – SSW wind will remain with us for much of the day and will also bring rain to our area from the W. Currently rain is falling around parts of the coast of Wales and by early afternoon we will see the odd light shower or two. These will clear through as the afternoon passes to leave us with a warm night.
Our top temperature today will be around 14c and overnight the low will reach a minimum of 8-9c. A few days ago we were pleased when 8c was the top daytime temperature!
The jet stream is now firmly place over the UK (see image) and will continue to bring warmer air from the SW. We can also expect to see more cloud and rain showers during the week.
Bright and breezy with some showers later.
